Recreational Programs
Performance Academy and Little Lions will be powered by MLS GO this season, offering a fun, structured, and development-focused environment for young players. Each session will run for 7–8 weeks, with Wednesday training sessions held at Michelin Athletic Fields (MAF) or a coach’s designated home location, and Friday league games hosted at MAF. Players will compete in either 4v4 or 7v7 formats, depending on age, and all participants will receive an MLS jersey for both training and games, as well as a complimentary ticket to a Charlotte FC match this season. Volunteer coaches are welcome, with the club providing a full training curriculum to ensure a consistent and positive experience.
The program supports player-, coach-, and school-built teams, allowing flexibility for groups to form within their local communities. Teams can be organized by parents, players, or coaches, with roster guidelines of six players for 4v4 and nine players for 7v7. League formats include U8–U9 (2017–2018) in a 4v4 structure with a target of 30 players across six teams, U10–U11 (2015–2016) in a 7v7 format with goalkeepers and a target of 48–54 players, and U12–U13 (2013–2014) also playing 7v7 with similar roster targets. MLS GO will offer two spring sessions, each lasting seven weeks, with Session One running from February 4 to March 20 and Session Two from April 1 to May 15. Each session is priced at $160, with a discounted rate of $300 available for both spring sessions.
